Hi guys, how have we been? Let’s address my absence without leave, I apologize. Over the next couple posts I would be addressing what has been going on and all that good stuff.
So, I decided to start the month off with a review of the books I read last month! Remember my last post HERE, I talked about my history with books and said I was going to start reading again. On my list for APRIL were three books;
1. How to win friends and influence people – Dale Carnegie
2. Better than good – Zig Ziglar
3. Plum – Hollie McNish
I know the question on your mind, Rosemary did you finish them? Well………. I finished two. 2/3 is pretty good if I do say so myself. So, I was able to read ‘how to win friends and influence people’ and ‘Plum’, start to finish and I did not even open ‘Better than good’.
Did you read any books last month? If yes tell me about it down in the comment section
The experience
They were genuinely interesting reads and I had to remind myself daily to pick up a book because I didn’t want to not have anything to tell you guys come May. So that helped and times where I would normally stare into the abyss or get zoned out on the internet I spent reading. So that was good for me.

HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE:
There is so much to be said about this book! The funny thing is these are things we know but tend to forget or overlook! What I got from this book is to treat others like a mirror image of yourself. You do not want to be criticized, condemned or not appreciated so why do that to others?
The things that make you feel good will make others feel good, smile, get people to talk about themselves, be genuinely interested in the things they hold dear, be curious about them.
And a big part that resonated with me so much was the part about showing respect for other people’s opinion, do not tell people their opinions are wrong, understand their point of view and that is the start point on how to win them over to your line of thinking.
I will shut up now, I sincerely believe everyone should read this book!
PLUM:
Just wow, the book is a collection of poems she wrote from age 8 to about age 33. The pieces are linked in a non-coherent way it somehow makes sense, her writing style and the feelings in her words are palpable. Also, the poems are quite easy to understand and her play with rhymes are on point.
That being said, for the month of May, we are going to bite what we can chew, so two books!
BOOKS FOR MAY:
1. Better than Good – Zig Ziglar
2. Milk and Honey – Rupi Kaur
What book(s) do you have set out for this month?
Stay shining guys!
YOU ARE LOVED!
